Getting Started: Volunteers

HOW TO VOLUNTEER

1. Check the map. The map shows a selection of volunteer opportunities, posted by nonprofit organizations, your friends (if you’ve connected with Facebook) and requests from others in your area.  Different types of opportunities are indicated by the different color badges; your requests are marked by the badge with the star.

Depending on what area you are viewing, the map may not show all of the available opportunities.  Use the form below to filter the results to show only relevant opportunities.

Place your mouse over each marker to see what each opportunity is, and click on the info (or double-click on the marker) for detailed information about the opportunity. For opportunities from the Volunteer Crew database, you can start the volunteer process in the website.

2. Click on the Volunteer button. If the volunteer requester has asked to review each volunteer, a message will be sent to the requester notifying him or her that you have volunteered. Once reviewed, Volunteer Crew will send any additional instructions submitted by the requester, along with details of your volunteer commitment. Use the Contact button if you have a question for the volunteer requester.

3. After you have completed your volunteering, both you and the requester can return to Volunteer Crew to rate the experience and provide feedback. Your rep is on the line!
